|
|
|
The buildings were the first school complex built after the Cuban Revolution. The assignment was entrusted to Cuban architect Ricardo Porro and two Italian architects, Roberto Gottardi and Vittorio Garatti. The site chosen was the one where the aristocratic "Havana Country Club" golf course was located.
The project included a series of 5 formally related buildings and the three architects agreed to use common principles to homogenize works.
After the first enthusiasm of the revolution, the government stopped commissioning works of architectural quality, and the change in the political climate did not allow the completion of all buildings. |
